South, 5 to 7, occasionally 4 but 8 later. Good.
Beyond the duvet, the sailor’s life but a saltwater fairy tale.
Rise to the challenge? Time to rise?
Gut-wrenching newspaper headlines crush the intellect.
Magnify hope, stumble and mumble soft prayers.
Gnarled farmer laments a U-turn to help subsidise.
And all that remains is the daily tweet of the wildfowl
Or the longing hoot of the lonesome night owl.
Darkness tiptoes away and one last beep
It’s 6. Good Morning. I wish I were still asleep.
