The plane landed and everyone secretly sighed a silent thank
you. Prayers, hopes, wishes – whatever – had been answered. She waited for the
seatbelt light to go off and for the others to jump to their feet.
Mobiles on, pick
up limousines and dutiful parents manoeuvre into line. Luggage gliding by and people
holding small bits of cardboard above their heads. ‘Dobson’ ‘Khan’ ‘Kennedy’
and ‘Banks Family.’ She searches the cards and faces.
