Pat sighed heavily and frowned at
her best friend over the froth of her cappuccino.
“You watch too much TV. This isn’t Midsomer,”
she scolded.
But she had to admit that Julie
could be onto something.
“We need to find out when and where
they got married. Actually, do we have any proof that they did get married? I mean,
we saw a picture of a wedding but we haven’t got any proof it happened – after all
the parents didn’t get invited. Maybe the whole thing was just a hoax,” Pat’s voice
trailed off.
“Or perhaps it was a business
arrangement. You hear about people getting married so they can enter the
country legally.”
Whatever it was, it wasn’t what Pat
needed at the start of a new year.
