Goodbye Cruel World

Goodbye Cruel World

The orange peel it splits and creaks and landmasses tear apart
Pangea becomes a game of two halves both with a beating heart.
And what was once one, now slides adrift
With a destiny of its own as they sink and they lift.
The crack that widens and pulls us apart
That changes the map and alters the chart.
I once belonged to the world, now I’m different from you
The swells of the ocean spit and split below blue.
Water keeps us apart as you drift further away
But not only liquid breaches causeway,
For ever and ever, at least while men plunder
My home will be sectioned as earth splinters asunder.
The Triassic-Jurassic extinction events that started back then
Started with landscapes and will be finished by men.
