Cousin Benny’s best friend turned
out to be a short, stocky girl with hair piled up high on her head. Arthur
stared at the mound of twirling red locks which defied gravity.
She took out her laptop and
theatrically opened it, making it quite obvious that she enjoyed the attention.
She mumbled under her breath (but loud enough to be heard) words and phrases
like ‘ID’, ‘Password’, ‘Firewall’, ‘Anti-virus programme’ and then announced to
everyone “We’re in!”
The sense of accomplishment
was overwhelming for three people in the room. Arthur, the fourth person transfixed
by this performance, on the other hand felt quite the reverse and was so
under-whelmed he sniggered. Rosemary glowered but luckily neither Cousin Benny
nor his best friend seemed to notice.
