She
was medium height. Almost the same height as Patrick. She was looking sideways
at Patrick, obviously happy, with a gentle smile on her face. Her skin was that
of a burnished russet, the result of a recent holiday in the sun at a guess. It was
healthy tan, not the orange shades that some are, especially those purchased in
a booth, and it had that hint of apple red that identifies a tan probably
gained in the south of England or northern coast of France. Exposure to sun and
sand and wind.
Her
hair was short and dark – it looked cropped but it was hard to tell under the
wedding veil.
