Labrador Dreams

Labrador Dreams

My friend and I

Curled like a ammonite
Settled for a snuggly night
Labrador Dreams.
Idly twitching to deep sleep
Rapid eye movement secrets keep
Labrador dreams.
Slipping into story and fabulous tale
Creeps the animal wagging the tail
Labrador dreams.
Catching a ball, chasing a swift,
Memories of biscuits and happily drift
Labrador Dreams.
Walking on the fells, rolling in the mud
Into deeper reverie, head falls, gentle thud.
Labrador Dreams.
Chew the soft, squishy toy that squeaks
“Welcome to Dreamland” the bitten playmate speaks
Labrador Dreams
All is not what it seems.
