You are my rock, I am a pebble in motion.
I am flimsy and flippant, you a picture of
devotion.
You are massive and solid, I am frivolous
and shallow
You protect and defend me when I am naive
and so callow.
You are my rock and confederate, I am a
loose end.
You never cease to amaze me, my rock and
best friend.
I take you for granted, you silently care,
People may talk but it’s no love affair.
You help me get through the day and my fads
tolerate
I moan and sound off but you never berate.
You are my rock, a flawed diamond like me.
You are south, I am north. You plan A and
me B.
You are my rock, I am a stone sinking fast.
I am mercurial and erratic, you reliable
and sure.
You have saved me my bacon when I pig out
so immature.
I probably forgot, it might have slipped my
mind,
In all likelihood you mistook me for being
unkind,
So ‘Thank you for being there and all that
you do,
Thank you for being there and for just
being you.’
