He places it on her finger and the light interacts
Free electrons circulate and bounce
reflecting the light.
She just knows it is polished and glowing
and circles her life
She is becoming his wife.
The golden band glitters splendid and splendent
Like the sun it shines brightly through the
suds and the dishes.
Years of heartache and wonder and laughter
and strife
For she is his wife.
Good times were many but arguments more
rife
And as she removes the lustrous metal
She is no longer his wife.
