Mistral

From season to season, as winter turns to spring
A cold wind blows that changes bring.
Sudden storm and violent strength cuts valleys in two
The clarity of air lets the sky shine blue.
Collar up and trembling hands headgear battle to corral,
the pounding and relentless and mighty Mistral.
Ultramarine above with cloudless skies
or threatening clouds wrapped in the noir disguise,
the masterly wind holds us to ransom,
reminding us of nature’s formidable authority.
